Global

Global Goals

We want to see Fight4Freedom become a global group of freedom fighters. Currently, we are doing outreach in Canada and the Philippines. Sex trafficking looks different in every country in the world, and we want to meet these differences and create unique outreaches, survivor care, education, and partnerships everywhere we go.

Canada

SEX TRAFFICKING IN CANADA
In Canada, sex trafficking is going increasingly online. However, in-person sexual exploitation continues to happen, especially in cities along the 401 corridors (Carville, Chattopadhyay).
  • Indigenous peoples are disproportionally represented in those being sex trafficked in Canada (Roudometkina, Wakeford)
  • Pornography exploitation and addiction is becoming increasingly common in Canada (EFC)
  • 90% of trafficking in Canada is domestic, meaning it is Canadians being trafficked within Canada (Canadian Women's Foundation)

OUR VISION FOR CANADA
  • Continue to grow our outreaches, in-person and online
  • Establish outreach in more Canadian cities, aiming to grow to be coast to coast
  • Continue growing our aftercare program and partnerships
  • Invest in a safe house and rehabilitative freedom business
  • Continue education in schools and community groups to educate on the realities of sex trafficking
  • Advocate for legislative changes that will protect and defend those being trafficked

Philippines

SEX TRAFFICKING IN THE PHILIPPINES
“Cybersex trafficking, the trafficking of children to perform webcam sex shows for profit, is a brutal criminal innovation on the frontier between prototypical sex trafficking and child pornography”. (Carback)
  • The Philippines is experiencing a cybersex trafficking crisis right now
  • People who purchase cybersex can text in requests of sexual acts for the persons being trafficked to perform
  • Law and legislation are severely lacking in this area and are allowing a lot to go unprosecuted.
  • 60% of trafficking in East Asia is sex trafficking. (United Nations Office)

OUR VISION FOR THE PHILIPPINES
  • Find strategies and tools to address the cybersex trafficking crisis
  • Establish regular in-person outreach into high-risk areas for trafficking
  • Build partnerships with like-minded Filipino organizations
  • Partner with the Filipino community to develop relevant and useful educational tools about sex trafficking in the Philippines
  • Establish a functional survivor care program for our survivors in the Philippines

United States

SEX TRAFFICKING IN THE USA
As with most countries, it is difficult to find exact numbers on who is being trafficked and how due to the secretive nature of trafficking and exploitation. In the USA, the most common forms of sex trafficking are in person through pop-up brothels, massage parlours, the streets, and strip clubs, as well as online.
  • Minorities and people of colour are disproportionally represented in American sex trafficking (Polaris Project)
  • Buying and selling of pornography is the main avenue for sexual exploitation
Picture
OUR VISION FOR THE USA
  • Establish partnerships with like-minded American organizations
  • Begin outreach in high-risk areas in the USA
  • Build education plans and curricula for education in the USA
  • Partner with organizations that are doing rehabilitative work with survivors
  • Advocate for legislative changes that will protect and defend those being trafficked
